Sailing

With an area of just 84.000 km2, Austria is a relatively small country — therefore it’s never far from the city to one of its many lakes. Many of them are legendary and beckon you not only to a jump into the high quality water, but also to take on water sports like water skiing, windsurfing and sailing. When it comes to sailing, it does not matter if you are a beginner or a seasoned sailor – there will be a beautiful patch of water in Austria that is just perfect for you. Check out Burgenland’s Neusiedlersee, just a short drive from Vienna. Podersdorf in the Seewinkel (a market town in the district of Neusiedl am See) has especially good facilities for sailors, with sailing schools and workshops as well as a number of nice restaurants and cafés. And of course…perfect wind conditions.
